鲁班锁，起源于中国古代建筑中首创的榫卯结构，是广泛流传于中国民间的智力玩具，形状和内部的构造各不相同，一般都是易拆难装。鲁班锁的历史可以追溯到中国古代的春秋战国时期，据传最初是木匠鼻祖鲁班为了考验儿子的动手能力发明的，故得名。

　　Emerging from the ingenious mortise and tenon architectural technique of ancient China, the Burr Puzzle stands as a widely known Chinese traditional intellectual toy, fascinating minds with its intricate shapes and the challenging characteristic of being easy to disassemble but difficult to reassemble. Rooted in China's ancient Spring and Autumn Period, the Burr Puzzle is attributed to Lu Ban, a pioneer in carpentry. It is said that Lu Ban created it to test his son's manual dexterity, thus giving it its name.

　　鲁班锁由许多个不同形状的木块组成，每个木块都有凸凹不平的形状和大小，不用钉子和绳子，完全靠自身结构的连接支撑，就像一张纸对折一下就能够立得起来，展现了一种看似简单，却凝结着不凡智慧的传统手造。作为玩具，鲁班锁不仅广为流传，其榫卯结构原理也已经大量运用于建筑设计中。鲁班锁制作技艺精细，需要选材开料、榫卯成形、后期处理三大流程、几十道制作工序。2020年，鲁班锁制作技艺列入山东省非物质文化遗产名录。

Its structural integrity relies solely on its internal arrangement, sidestepping the need for nails or cords. Similar to folding a piece of paper to create a standing shape, this seemingly simple yet ingeniously crafted toy encapsulates a reservoir of extraordinary wisdom. Beyond its role as a toy, the principles behind the Burr Puzzle's interlocking structures have been extended into the realm of architectural design, leaving an indelible mark in this field. Crafting a Burr Puzzle demands meticulous work, involving a series of steps such as material selection, the precise crafting of mortise and tenon joints, and the deliberate execution of various production phases. In the year 2020, the craftsmanship of making Burr Puzzles was included in Shandong provincial intangible cultural heritage list.

　　如今，历经千年岁月，在鲁班的故乡——枣庄滕州，凝聚匠人智慧的鲁班锁在后人的手中搭载时代的东风，正形成一方文化大产业。传承人们不仅开发鲁班锁相关文创工艺品，在保留手工部分技艺的同时，引入智能化生产模式，让鲁班锁的生产走上“批量生产”的道路。传承人们还积极参加各地文博会，举办了鲁班锁拆装大赛，建设了鲁班工坊，开展鲁班文化进校园活动。在数字化时代，他们还计划利用现代信息技术，为鲁班文创产品建立数据库，让鲁班锁手造的魅力以数据的形式记录下来。目前，鲁班锁系列文创产品已被山东省外事办推选为传统文化特色外交礼物。倚靠着新的身份，鲁班锁将把山东的古老智慧带向更广阔的世界。

　　Over centuries, in Tengzhou, Zaozhuang—the birthplace of Lu Ban—the torch of craftsmanship has been passed down. Now Burr Puzzle has become a thriving cultural industry, embodying the accumulated wisdom of generations.The inheritors are not only content with crafting cultural products related to the Burr Puzzle, but have also embraced innovation by combining traditional craftsmanship with smart production methods, paving the way for mass production.Their participation in cultural exhibitions, assembly and disassembly competitions,the establishment of dedicated workshops, and the integration of Burr Puzzle culture into educational institutions all underscore their proactive approach. As the digital age unfolds, they are prepared to integrate modern information technology into their efforts, envisioning a database to capture the essence of handcrafted Burr Puzzles. Currently, the collection of cultural and creative products falling under the Burr Puzzle category have gained recognition as traditional cultural diplomatic offerings by Shandong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office.
