An entering water ceremony for "Dingyuan warship" was held in Li island of Rongcheng in the morning of September 13. "Dingyuan warship" is the first reconstructed warship of 19th century worldwide. The reconstructing project lasts over three years and costs 50 million Yuan RMB.

As the flagship of the Beiyang fleet, "Dingyuan warship" is well known for the Sino-Japanese naval battle. It witnessed a period of solemn and stirring history of Chinese nation.

Known as the first warship of Asia at that time, "Dingyuan Warship" was made by Germany shipyard and handed to China in 1885. It sank in the harbor of Weihaiwei harbor in the Sino-Japanese naval battle in February of 1895. The reconstructed Dingyuan Warship is 94.5 meter's long, 18 meter's wide and has a draught of 6 meter. There isn't any power system in it. The interior decoration was recovered according to the historical original appearance. It is known that "Dingyuan warship" will be towed to the Weihai harbor to meet Chinese and foreign visitors in next spring.
