East China's Shandong Province, one of the country's leading economic generators, conducted 27.97 billion US dollars of foreign trade during the first half of this year, up 38.6 percent year-on-year, according to a local statistical bureau.
The total trade included 15.56 billion dollars of exports, up 32.6 percent year-on-year, and 12.4 billion dollars of imports, up47 percent.
Overseas-funded businesses accounted for 52.4 percent of the exports, or 8.15 billion dollars, and 53.1 percent of the imports,6.58 billion dollars.
Imports and exports by local state-run enterprises amounted to 7.38 billion dollars during the six months, up 26.7 percent year-on-year, with the amount by private businesses rising 150 percent to 2.49 billion dollars.
The Republic of Korea remained Shandong's leading trade partnerwith bilateral trade volume reaching 5.86 billion dollars from January to June, up 38 percent year-on-year. Japan was second with a trade volume of 4.73 billion dollars, and the United Stateswas third with 4.12 billion dollars.
Shandong's major exports are machinery and electronic products,garments and accessories, textile yarns, and fabrics.
The province exported 1.05 billion dollars worth of hi-tech products during the six months, up 64.5 percent year-on-year, withhi-tech imports rising 32.5 percent to 1.49 billion dollars.(Xinhua) |
