The largest Chinese-designed-and-built luxury liner----“Bohai Zhenzhu” vessel, funded by Shandong Bohai Ferry Co., Ltd for 350-million-yuan ($ 51 million), was launched at 10:28 on October30 in Huanghai Shipbuilding Company, located in Rongcheng, a costal city in East China’s Shandong Province. The liner will start her sailing voyage after a half-year period for interior decoration.

According to Yu Xinjian, the General Manager ofBohai Ferry, “Bohai Zhenzhu”,is a magnificent vessel, weighing 20,000 gross tons,with a total length of163.95m, a width of25m, and room for 1630 people and more than 200 vehicles.

The main propulsion system, steering engine, steering control system, communication and navigation system as well as many other facilities are made by well-known brands from Germany, Italy and Japan.

The vessel is equipped with two sets of fin-stabilizers, which guarantee that the vehicles on the ship are not moving or toppling in stormy weather, and also guarantee passengers a comfortable ride.

Electronic nautical charts,global positioning system (GPS), as well as the most advanced security monitoring system will help minimize the security threats in the vessel.

“Bohai Zhenzhu” is also the best ship for touring, relaxing and entertainment. The living area for passengers boasts a large recreational center with a large multiple-room where you can hold a medium-sized conference room or a big party, and also makes a nice showroom. There are net bars, a large tea room, three KTV and three chess & cards rooms, Yu said.

“Transportation on the Bohai Bay is of great significance, for it is an ocean hub connecting China’s north, east, south and northeast. It plays an important role in the economic development of the surrounding areas”, said Yu.
