HONG KONG, April 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The Kuomintang (KMT) Party of China Chairman Lien Chan leading a Kuomintang delegation arrived at the Hong Kong Airport at noon by Dragonair Flight KA487 Tuesday.
Lien and his delegation were welcomed at the airport by Assistant Director of the Taiwan Work Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Xing Kuishan and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government Secretary for Constitutional Affairs Stephen Lam Sui-lung.
Lien will stay at the airport for about two hours and depart by a charter flight of the Eastern Airlines and is expected to land at Nanjing, the first leg of his mainland tour, late in the afternoon.
The delegation, at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and its General Secretary Hu Jintao,will visit the mainland cities of Nanjing, Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai from April 26 to May 3.
Leaders of the two parties will meet for the first time in 60 years. |
